Budget has nothing to do with good designs

Budget has nothing to do with good designs DESIGNING BUILDING FACADE WITH KATHROT [ALUMINIUM PLATE] I was encountered with a challenging task where I strived to innovate the building facade with a different element and simultaneously reducing the cost by 50% of the basic average costing. I was assigned a task which was challenging, I was ready for the challenge even if it sounded questionable. I was in search for the materials but if was a handful job figuring it out, just when I decided to draw something basic , I witnessed an argument between 2 kids nearby my site, I asked the kids what they were fighting for and one of them handed me out an aluminium plate also known as KATHROT. I saw the element and, I decided at that very moment that this is going to be a part of my elevation, I asked them if I can buy them a new kathrot to stop the fight and ended up getting one for myself too for the brainstorming of our new designs. Following that, I thought of various different things I could do with a single plate and it was crazy how we look down to the beautiful objects that are used in our day to day lifestyle, it was like reinventing the vision all over again, several patterns were designed to achieve the edge for treating our witty elevation, but I thought for the longevity, I wanted something that could make it last longer and something which wasn’t done before. From all the options we had, we opted for ANODISING it. (Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish.) After that, our team did the market survey as we needed to bring down the price as much as possible which also included the expenditure of anodising process of plates. Finally, it was decided to include the element to have an elegant look of the building from outside. In addition, linear patterns were designed and the plates were anodized with one colour having distinct shades. Expressing Stories Through Natural Materials

Expressing Stories Through Natural Materials STORY of ENTRANCE STAIRCASE The grand entrance staircase at the ground floor depicts the life journey of the Gajera family from generations. We love connecting to our clients and know them personally to bring them the best design which suits their taste and lifestyle. The very first time when the meeting was held with client they described us their life story in their early phase which was quite a struggle, and also talked about their supportive family and were very attached and proud of it. I decided to design their pride into a staircase from their rough and tough times to simplicity with a tint of luxury. The mystical grandeur place constructed with meticulous planning, the narrow street house has all the amenities under a roof that includes multipurpose parking (column less), welcoming foyer, living area, kitchen with dining, 3 master bedrooms, a gym, home theatre, and terrace garden. Firstly, the multipurpose spacious parking which can be occupied by the family for family functions or gatherings followed by the stairs where the sculpture invites indoors. The cuboids evolve into a lively space that speaks for itself. Bright colors enhance the furniture whereas the neutral color scheme makes the living room bold and classy.   The four granite stones of different sizes were placed in order to cut and carve them in stairs, where the rough texture of natural stone describes the hard time of the initial phase of the family where they were just a small scale diamond merchants. Secondly, the smooth granite finish stairs leading upwards shows the improvement in their lifestyle. Furthermore, they have established a status symbol not only nationally but also on an international platform by constituting diamond companies and captivating them and bringing it to another level, marking their achievements. Thirdly, the MS channel support beneath the stairs indicates the simplicity and generous attitude of the people in the house, who have supported them to build their business empire at the given stages.   PREVIOUS Be Faithful To Your Own Place   NEXT Budget has nothing to do with good designs

BE FAITHFUL TO YOUR OWN PLACE

BE FAITHFUL TO YOUR OWN PLACE The project by J9 Associates is located in Surat. The name Sheri house puts you in context with the location and its traditional value. The contemporary façade responds to the characteristics of the narrow street. Houses here reflect features of the traditional load-bearing structures. This project of designing a house in between a Sheri with enough luxurious amenities and fresh air ventilation from a certain height was a challenge. The exterior grid plays with the shadow indoors in the kitchen area, whereas the doors to the store room and common washroom are concealed. The main focus on the screen made the home theatre look less compared to the whole place therefore, to make it more lively colorful threads ran along the dark walls. The bedrooms were simple and quite elegant with enough luxury. The reason to keep it simple was to enhance the old Sheri house details which were giving the room its beauty outside the room window. The old house details did add a lot extra to the room. Skylights are widely used in designing daylight in places like public, residential and commercial. We here provided a skylight in a residential space because the site was blocked from both sides and the skylight would not only look graceful and aesthetically pleasing but would also have an impact in less electrical lighting use, saving energy, lowering costs, and would help in reducing environmental damage. Fresh air is a mandatory part of a healthy lifestyle. The locality is quite polluted, as the vehicles run on the roads throughout the day leaving back layers of dust and sounds. The challenge to maintain hygienic fresh air indoors was taken and resolved by installing louvers at the top of the house, which is 60 ft. above the ground level.
